When you are seeking a convenient back-up for your home’s electricity system, finding yourself an affordable portable generator that runs on gas is a great idea.
Thinking Ahead of the Game
I have a family and kids and when I look at what is happening at this moment in time with terrorism, wars and the ongoing climate change problems, I began to worry about what would happen if we experienced some kind of problem with our electricity supply. We have become so dependent on our electricity systems that such a problem can cripple entire countries and put our lives in jeopardy.
I am maybe over-exaggerating, but I take these things seriously and know you do too. I wanted to purchase a gas-powered generator so I checked reviews online and found the DuroMax Elite MX4500E portable generator.
Coming with an electric start 7 HP motor that tops at 4,500 watts peak and 2,500 constant wattage of power, this generator is perfect for camping trips and also as a backup to the power supply of your home. I also like to do a bit of DIY and am currently building a spare unit that has no electricity, so this generator really helped when using my power tools.
The 4 gallon gas tank ensured I could use the generator for up to 8 hours at 50% load. The generator was easy to assemble and took just 30 minutes until I was ready to add the gas and power up my tools.
Convenient Generator Solutions
If you are looking for one of the best generators on the market place, this is a great choice. The air-cooled systems has a low oil shutoff sensor which is a great safety feature that will prevent a motor burnout. The automatic idle control system maintains the product’s RPMs under varying loads, which means your fuel goes a long way while at the same time reducing the noise output.
On the control panel you will find a RV switch, engine shutoff switch, a keyed electric start, a circuit breaker and volt reader. On the power panel you will find 120 Volt 20 Amp 3-prong outlets and 120/240 Volt 30 Amp twist lock that is NEMA certificated. One thing to remember is this product is not for sale in California as it doesn’t meet CARB-compliant standards.
As I mention in my review, I was looking for a generator that could allow me to sleep easy in the knowledge that in any eventuality, whether terrorism or natural disaster related, that I had a backup supply of electricity, and this is what you get with the DuroMax Elite MX4500E, which in my humble opinion is one of the best generators currently in the marketplace.
