Are you looking for a car seat for your child which you won’t have to replace every year or two? Perhaps you already have a seat but your child just can’t get comfortable? Or maybe you’re not convinced about the safety of the other seats you’ve seen? In that case, it’s time to take a look at the Even Flo Symphony Elite Car Seat.
About the seat
This seat has a few great selling points: Perhaps most important is the safety aspect – it uses impact protection technology which has been shown to reduce impact effects by up to 50% in the event of an accident. Another point is that it’s easy to install and adjust – it has a slide harness which should ensure a perfect fit for your child as she or he grows. Thirdly, it is designed for comfort and has three different reclining positions in addition to a cup holder to avoid spillages in the back seat. As a result of this, the Evenflo Symphony Elite has won a whole host of awards from parenting and consumer publications.
So, who is it for?
Evenflo wants you to use this seat for the entire time that your child requires a child seat. It has an 8-year expiry and is designed for newborns right up to eight year-olds. That’s why it has both rear and forward-facing positions. The rear-facing position is suitable for children weighing between 5 and 40 pounds, the forward-facing position is suitable for those of between 20 and 65 pounds and the booster position is for children who weigh 40 to 110 pounds.
Being able to use only one child seat for up to 8 years is great for your child’s comfort, familiarity and also for your pocket. The slide harness and latch installation mean that there’s no awkward messing around trying to fit the sit or trying to make your child comfortable. In addition to this, the fabric is nice and soft and the seat itself is quite attractive.
Customers have commented that children could quickly outgrow the size specification for the rear-facing position. Furthermore, there have been reports of the fabric causing their child to feel uncomfortably hot. Apparently Evenflo have reacted to this by releasing an updated version (the Evenflo Symphony Platinum Seat) which has temperature-regulating fabric, but this may still be an issue for the Elite version.
Other complaints have been concerned with the cup holders being too small and the fully-reclined position still not preventing children’s heads from drooping as they snooze.
In terms of safety, longevity and ease of use, I rate this seat pretty highly. Depending on your vehicle, this could be the ideal solution for your child’s needs.
For all its pros and cons, the Evenflo Symphony Car Seat is a hit with customers – at least on Amazon, where reviewers currently rate it with 4.5 stars out of 5. Why not visit BabyShop.Tips to check it out and compare it to similar products?
